No. The Chatfield Water Polo Club is open to eligible high school students in the surrounding area. Players do not need to attend Chatfield High School to participate. Under Colorado High School Water Polo Association (CHSWPA) guidelines, athletes typically play for the club team that is closest to their home address. If Chatfield is the closest CHSWPA club team to your residence, you may be eligible to join our team.Â

No. Previous water polo experience is not required. Our coaches will teach players the fundamentals of the sport, including passing, shooting, defensive skills, positions, rules, and game strategy.
Players should be comfortable swimming in deep water and able to tread water continuously for at least 15 minutes. Water polo is played without touching the bottom of the pool, so a strong swimming foundation is important for player safety and success.
No. Competitive swimming experience is helpful but not required. Athletes with different backgrounds are encouraged to join. Water polo skills, techniques, and conditioning will be developed throughout the season.
Yes. The Chatfield Water Polo Club is a co-ed team open to student-athletes who want to learn, compete, and be part of a team environment.
The team is open to eligible high school students. Please contact us for specific eligibility requirements based on grade level and CHSWPA guidelines.
The water polo season runs during the fall season, late August - early November. Practices, games, and team activities will be announced as the schedule is finalized.
Practices will possibly be at the Woodbourne Wave pool, The Ridge Rec Center and Lily Gulch. Games are on Saturdays at Arvada Aquatic Center, VMAC, and the Air Force Academy
Players will need a water polo suit and goggles.
Program fees help cover league registration, pool rental, coaching, equipment, and other team expenses. Detailed fees and payment information will be provided during registration.
